Web Developer
An Essex-based design agency is looking for a skilled Web Developer to join our skilled team of savvy creatives to help build memorable digital solutions for our clients.
The ideal person for this role will have strong skills in development and will work closely with our in-house designers to deliver on website projects however, it would be great if they had a level of design skill too.
Tech Skills
- Expert knowledge of CSS (SCSS), JS, HTML and Java script
- Experience building a custom WordPress Site from scratch
- Exposure to modern development workflows (Package Management (NPM), Module Bundlers (Webpack), Compilers (Babel)
- Experience communicating with clients
- Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, testing, and responsive design
- Understanding of PHP
- Good coding practices
- Version Control (GIT)
- Understanding of web hosting and deployment
- Experience with JS frameworks like React, Angular, etc.
- Knowledge of SQL, MySQL
- Experience working with APIs
- Experience working with a headless CMS and the JAM stack
- Experience with Gatbsy.js
- Experience with Tailwind CSS and Blades templating language
- Experience with WooCommerce
- Basic on-page SEO best practices
General Skills
- Great attention to detail……we’re talking “pixel perfect”!
- Keen to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- At least 3 years commercial experience
- Good communication skills
Bonus points if you have any of the following Design Skills:
- Strong UX/UI design skills
- Produce wireframes to help solve layout challenges
- Produce creative design visuals
- Experience using either Adobe XD, Sketch or Figma
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Your responsibilities would include
- Develop websites from supplied designs with custom WordPress themes
- Work in conjunction with existing team members to specify, quote and develop sites
- Communicate with clients via email and phone with occasional face to face meetings
- Manage, amend and maintain existing websites
- Deploy websites and help manage domain transfers
- Work with a diverse range of sectors
