IT Infrastructure and Digital Transformation Support Lead

Salary: £52,000 – £55,000 per annum

Job Location: London, EC2V, you may be required to travel to sites accross England

Job Purpose

This role will cover several important disciplines, which relate to the way the company uses IT systems to become more efficient.

To project manage infrastructure and network issues, working with 3rd party suppliers to identify and resolve onsite or remotely in line with agreed deliverables.

To provide a wide area network project strategy to support the improvements at more than 25 Care Homes/sites located across England.

To provide IT expertise as the SME, working closely with suppliers to improve the efficiency of both existing and new software applications.

The role is key to maintaining and monitoring the companys Cloud-based and Wi-Fi network services to ensure that the infrastructure is secure and always performing well. This will also require involvement in current network upgrade projects, within the Trust.

Principle Responsibilities

Information Technology (IT)

  • Support the design, implementation, and documentation of network solutions.
  • Technical lead on current system upgrade projects and new digital transformation projects.
  • Support the upkeep of legacy systems with third party suppliers
  • Working when necessary with preferred third party suppliers to problem-solve network issues to prevent security breaches.
  • Oversee third party supplier network installation work at the various sites/homes, when required.
  • Supporting sites that have internal network management requirements
  • Supporting IT staff within the department, when required.

Projects

  • To work closely with the Digital Transformation Director as the IT SME for related projects that form part of the strategic digital transformational plan for the Trust.

IT Support:

  • Understanding of Switches, routers, Wi-Fi AP’s and firewalls. – Draytek, Cisco, Juniper
  • Understanding of Network Cabling and patching. – CAT5e to CAT6 Azure (IaaS/PaaS components) – New platform Exchange Online/Office 365 Administration.
  • Microsoft Server 2016/2019 Administration.
  • Windows 10 network.
  • Remote support tools, e.g. RDP and TeamViewer.
  • Active Directory administration.
  • Group Policy creation and administration.
  • Mimecast administration.
  • Meraki administration.
  • Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Visio skills for topology diagrams.
  • Microsoft Power BI skills for reporting
  • CompTIA A+ with N+ or CCNA qualifications and more than 3 years’ experience.

Other duties

  • To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required within the parameters of the position.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues as required on IT related matters.

  • Work autonomously within defined parameters, with little or no supervision.
  • Working out of normal office hours might be required on projects but will be arranged in advance.

Essential Qualifications

  • A relevant IT qualification to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Recognised IT certifications

Experience

(Essential)

  • Providing on-site /remote support
  • Detailed knowledge of: Windows platform
  • Microsoft: Server 2008 R2 upwards
  • Microsoft: Active Directory
  • Microsoft: Exchange Citrix XenApp Windows 7, 8, 10
  • Demonstrate taking the lead on technical projects and overseeing outcomes.
  • Understanding of Wireless networking, experience with monitoring Cisco Aironet and Meraki controllers.
  • Author new or existing technical documentation for auditing purposes
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN support and escalation
  • Understanding, planning implementation, and supporting new technologies.
  • Gathering and processing data to identify process performance areas.
  • Designing workflow and process strategies to improve business performance.
  • Experienced as the IT support lead for major projects, to define software requirements.
  • Experienced in managing the development and testing strategy of existing and new applications.
  • Willingness to travel

Experience

(Desirable)

  • Previous work experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience with any of the following i.e. CareSYS, PS Financials, TimeTEQ, Sophos Anti-virus, Asigra – backup, Meraki/Aironet Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge of: AWS/Azure MS365
  • A full clean driving licence
